Nipit’s Needle

Unlike most Imps, who have a single chunk of magical Impicite somewhere on their body, Simpkin’s arms are embedded with tiny shards of the stuff, which he uses to inject his opponents with a temporary yet incredibly strong charm spell.

This spell causes Simpkin’s crush to fall deeply in love with the first imp they lay eyes upon. Unfortunately for them, it’s usually Simpkin himself. Unfortunately for Simpkin, this temporary spell always wears off at the worst possible time, giving him little to no chance of escaping the following beating once his mind-broken mark snaps back to reality (ope, there goes gravity).

As of now, only one of Simpkin’s victims has failed to fall for his illusion: Shelbie. Instead of locking eyes with the pubescent pervert himself, Lacie was the first imp to come into her field of vision after waking up from one of Simpkin’s passionate projectiles. This resulted in a very intimate moment between the two, much to Lacie’s dismay.

Some would argue Shelbie dodged a bullet, while others wish I would stop writing stupid gun puns and get back to drawing instead.

[ Peppermint’s Log ]

Project Trick or Treat was a huge success! We managed to secure a whole bunch of sweets with minimum collateral damage.

Speaking of sweets, Candy seems to really like these crunchy “Batbite” drops. As expected from Beastkin, it seems any type of candy causes their bodies to change shape.

❖ Experiment Results

  • Candy grew a huge pair of ears after just one bite.

❖ Enhancements

  • Hearing range increased up to 113 kHz

❖ Detriments

  • Barks replaced by high pitched squeals.

❖ Other Details

  • Tends to enjoy sleeping upside down more than usual.

Shtick or Sweet

Peppermint’s ongoing research into a certain star’s culture has resulted in the discovery of “Halloween”.

After dressing her friends up in strange costumes, the gang (along with the sweet-toothed Lime and Katje) visit neighbouring villages in hope that their residents could be threatened into handing over some sugary treats.

Let’s just hope Lacie catches onto the fact these threats are purely idle or next year’s spooky celebrations might be held behind bars.

Katje’s golden cat-like ears are actually Impicite embedded directly into her brain, allowing her to tap into an abundance of powerful recipes passed down from the alchemists of old.

Sadly, Katje only cares about one thing; her love for four-legged furry friends. Ancient knowledge of a potion that polishes pointy hats, or an elixir that extinguishes beard mites are completely wasted on her.

But a concoction that turns you into a cat? Hell yeah, some of those ancient alchemists were pretty cool.

Katje’s fascination with felines and a limitless library of alchemy recipes helped influence her signature style of “Nyalchemy”, transforming her concoctions into an army of cat-shaped minions, including:

  • Crazy Cat, whose tantalizing gaze confuses her foes, turning them on one another.
  • Cool Cat, whose dazzling charm blinds anyone who dares to look her way.
  • Fat Cat, whose pudgy adorableness stops her foes dead in their tracks.

Unfortunately, almost all of Katje’s tinctures have one glaring weakness, and it comes in the form of Lacie’s canine friend Candy.

Rainy Days

Despite their differences, Lacie and friends all share one thing in common: disdain for rain.

Shelbie—a seraph hailing from a realm of endless sunlight—has no concept of bad weather, often confusing the terrifying rumble of thunder with the noises from Candy’s empty stomach.

Lacie was also similarly startled during her first storm after spending most of her life buried deep in the underworld. This “traumatic experience” is her excuse for rarely showering.

Candy—like most beastkin—loves nothing more than a romp outside during a torrential downpour. However, the awful smell of wet fur is so embarrassing that she refrains from going out in the rain until a certain technological genius gets around to fixing her hair dryer.

Speaking of which, Peppermint was never rated or even tested for water resistance. It wasn’t exactly required for her original purpose of assembling toasters.

Powered by the sun and entirely capable of travel no matter the weather, Allsorts just flat out refuses to move as soon as it senses a single drop of rain. Some assume its stubbornness was inherited from Peppermint, while others think that maybe it just wants to play video games with everyone else instead.

With our storm shunning shut-ins all huddled together, one would think that Lime could finally defeat them in one fell swoop. Unfortunately, the poor imp catches a cold every time he tries.
